Well, let’s go ahead and unpack that statement first. What, exactly, makes a fetish extreme? Is it the fact that a minority of people are interested in it? Is it the fact that it deviates from ‘traditional’ sex? Is it that it involves something which is generally taboo?
Look, here’s my thoughts on it. TF/MC is an extreme fetish. No matter how you try and parse it out, it simply is. It isn’t a fetish held by the majority, it sure as hell isn’t traditional, it’s more than a little taboo.
Now, extreme can be relative, I understand that. Scat, bestiality, animal TF’s, inanimate TF’s and mental AR are all fetishes which aren’t usually appreciated by large segments of the population, but here are three thoughts.
First, this is all fantasy. There is no harm being committed here, nothing detrimental to a little imaginative catharsis.
Second, pleasure comes in many different stripes. I explore it through my writing. Other people explore it in real life. If someone enjoys it, then there must be some aspect of it which is enjoyable, and I’m interested in parsing that out.
Third, I think all lines in the sand on this question are drawn arbitrarily. I don’t think there is such a thing as an extreme fetish—I think there are simply fetishes you enjoy/understand and ones you don’t. There’s nothing wrong with that, but there’s also nothing wrong with broadening one’s horizons in safe ways.
So, in the end, my affinity towards extreme fetishes is exploratory, but also a bit self-serving. I write the stories no one else will, and that gives me access to a lot of commissions I wouldn’t be able to get if I limited what I wrote about. This hobby does help pay the bills after all.
