Summer Commissions!

Hey all!

Summer has arrived, and with it, a bit of extra time on my hands, so I’m going to be open for commissions for the next few months, probably until September so. My commissions tend to be in high demand, so to keep things less/more fair (depending on how you look at things) I will not be giving away “slots” on “a first come, first serve” basis, like I have in the past. For one thing, I don’t know how many commissions I will be able to finish over the next few months, and so I don’t know how many slots to “offer,” and two, I’d rather not have anyone feel left out because they’re not quick enough on the draw.

So here’s how it will work! Most importantly, COMMISSIONS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO CURRENT PATREON SUPPORTERS FIRST! Anyone who puts at least a dollar in the pot will get early access, and priority treatment. Depending on my workload and the number of requests, commission might not be granted to non-Patrons, so the best way to improve your changes of your request becoming a story is by becoming a Patron. But first, here are the kinds of commissions I will be writing:

  • 2000 – 5000 words. The rate for stories is 2 cents a word, so a 2000 word story would cost $40, and a 5000 word story would cost $100 dollars. You are of course allowed to put a hard cap on word count, if you want to budget less than the maximum possible price.
  • No celebrities!
  • Fan fiction will *probably* be rejected, unless I’m familiar with the content. If I have to research it, I won’t write it.
  • Furry content is fine, but if you have a particular fursona in mind, please be ready to provide supplimental descriptions/references/character sheets to make my life easier. As is the case with fan fiction, any request requiring a substantial amount of outside research will likely be rejected.

I will be accepting requests through Patreon, over tumblr messenger, or email at wesley.bracken@gmail.com. Don’t worry too much about having all of the details hammered out–I prefer to discuss ideas with commissioners before settling on a formal idea. Once we’re both satisfied with your proposed request, I’ll add it to “The Pot”.

“The Pot” is going to be a public (available through google docs) list of all the requests I’ve vetted and am willing to write. IT IS NOT A QUEUE! I reserve to right to select requests to write from the pot in any order. ME PUTTING YOUR REQUEST IN THE POT IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT YOUR STORY WILL BE WRITTEN. Some requests I accept into the pot will likely not be written at all if I run out of time. If I decide to select your story, then I will require a down payment through paypal of $20 dollars, with the remainder due on completion of the story. ONLY AFTER I RECEIVE YOUR DOWN PAYMENT ARE YOU GUARANTEED A STORY. I will probably only be pulling stories out of the pot two or three at a time, and taking out more as I finish previous stories. So, what will make it more likely for me to choose to write your story in the pot? Basically, my goal is to finish as many stories as possible over the next few months. If I think I can get your story written faster than others, then I’ll probably choose it earlier.

Requests made by Patrons and non-Patrons will go into two separate pots, with the Patron requests taking priority. Only after I’ve emptied the patron pot completely will I start working on projects from the non-patron pot!

So, that was a lot of info. To summarize the process:

  1. You send me your story idea over Patreon, tumblr, or email.
  2. We discuss your idea.
  3. If I feel I don’t want to write your idea at all, or if it won’t fit within the parameters of this round of commissions, I will reject it. Otherwise, I will add it to the appropriate pot. (Note: If we discuss your idea over tumblr, or over email with an address that isn’t linked to Patreon, I will need you to confirm your Patreon status to me before your request will be put in the patron pot.)
  4. Your story will probably sit in the pot for a while as I work on requests. Have patience!
  5. In time, I *hopefully* will choose your story from the pot, and ask you for a down payment.
  6. You send the down payment of $20 through Paypal. PAYMENT FOR COMMISSIONS IS ONLY ACCEPTED THROUGH PAYPAL!
  7. I write your story!
  8. You send me the remaining balance, we discuss any small edits or revisions you would like to see, and once it’s finished, I send you a completed copy of the story.

Pretty simple right? This process lets me finish the maximum number of stories in the least amount of time. Hopefully I’ll be able to empty both pots! That depends on the number of requests I receive and accept. At the very least, I hope to empty the Patreon pot for certain, but we’ll see how the next few months shape up!

I’ll open up the pots and start writing stories in early July, after that month’s patreon payments all clear. That gives you about a week or so to think about your ideas. I’m happy to discuss ideas with anyone interested in the meantime, so we can be ready to hit the ground running next week! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me, and I’ll clarify anything that’s confusing!

Emergency Commissions!

As I mentioned last week, I’m going to be open for commissions from now until, well, until I decide to not be open anymore. The main reason for this, is that we’re moving to Amsterdam in three months, and international travel is expensive, etc., so a little extra monthly cushion would be much appreciated. You getting your perfect story written is just gravy, right? So here’s what I’ll be offering:

  • 500-1000 word flash fiction or caption (you provide the photo) – $15

For those of you who want something short and sweet. I can either do a short sex scene, or if you have a photo you’d like to see a caption for, I’ll do something inspired by the picture. You have to provide the picture, if you want a caption, and it either must be a picture you have permission to use, or a link to a photo I can reblog.

  • Short Story Commissions up to 5000 words – two cents a word, word count rounded to nearest 100 words. (a 3000 word story costs $60, a 5000 word story costs $100, etc.)

If you want something longer, we can do that too! I’m more than happy to discuss your ideas and desires, and hammer out a perfect story for you. I will also be offering a Patreon discount on short story commissions! Anyone who supports to me on Patreon will receive a 15% discount on their short story commission (flashes and captions don’t qualify) provided they are:

  1. a current Patreon contributor in good standing (i.e., whose last payment hasn’t declined),
  2. and they have previously contributed at least $5 to me through Patreon.

Easy enough right? If you’re interested in getting a commission, there are many ways to contact me, or just send me a message through tumblr, of course. There are a few other details to keep in mind, which make this a bit different that commissions I’ve done in the past, which are worth noting:

  • There is no limit to the number of slots I’m offering – That means that you don’t have to worry about getting in late, or not getting a slot if you want one. However, a spot for everyone unfortunately means…
  • If demand is high, I likely won’t be able to complete every request I get – I won’t know for sure until I see how people respond, but just because I give you a slot, does not guarantee that you will receive a story from me, even though I am going to try my hardest to finish every request I receive. This also means that…
  • All payment will be received upon completion – Usually I ask for a chunk upfront, but because I can’t guarantee I’ll finish every request, I won’t ask for payment until your story is drafted. That said, you won’t see the story until you have sent me payment. Payment will only be accepted through paypal!
  • Lastly, this is not a first come first served queue – While I will try to keep people from waiting too long, I will not be completing commissions in the order I receive them. My goal here is to get through as many of these as I can (depending, of course, on how many people want them) so if something looks easy or more appealing, I might prioritize it. Basically, the better I like your idea, and the simpler it is, the better chance you have of me writing it first.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me

Commissions are Closed (mostly)

Well, October was a busy month. On top of finding a new place to live, where my husband and I will be moving on December, during the height of holiday season, I also picked up a new full-time job on top of everything else. The commissions have been enough to tide me over bill wise for the last few months, but I really need to pay down some debt, and the job is actually decent, so I couldn’t pass it up.

That said, I now have a whole lot less time to write. This isn’t to say that I’m going to cut back on content here, merely that I am going to have to pick and choose what I am going to spend my time writing, and with a job (and a hefty backlog of commissions I’ve already promised to people) I’m going to stop taking commissions, both long and short ones, until further notice. If you have already paid me for a commission, don’t worry, you’re still on the list, which is as follows:

  • Karwood #1
  • Karwood #2
  • Gunderian
  • Gaynerpig
  • Boreas
  • Rossc and boyn2changes (hiatus)
  • Keto (that last part)
  • Scot158f (the long thing)

If you’re not on that list, sorry, I’m not taking your commission. I’m going to be working through my backlog, and then I actually want to get around to writing some stuff of my own, that I’ve had on the backburner for way, way too long (City of Bears especially). So, sorry to disappoint. I’m sure that in the new year I’ll open up some slots again as I feel like it, but until then, you’ll just have to enjoy what I have to offer.

That said, there are two kinds of commissions I will still be taking. I will still be open for caption expansions, and CYOC chapters (limit of five at a time on those however). So, have a happy Halloween everybody.

September Updates

Alright, so I’m going to be starting the new interactive this week, and it will run through September, and maybe a bit into October, depending on my stamina and all of your interest levels. I’m planning 2 – 3 posts a week on it, depending on what else I might have to put up each week. I’ve had a lot of commissions that have just been finished up in a flurry, including “Identity Crises” which I’ll be posting.

Also, I’ve added a couple of new kinds of commissions to my list of offerings on my commissions page. They’re both cheaper, and hopefully they’ll interest a few of you.

First, CYOC appears to be back up and running well at the moment. Do you have a chapter you’d love to see extended? $15 gets you a 1000-1500 word chapter added to the story of your choice. If you want more than one chapter added, you can pay an extra $10 per addition at a bulk rate, up to five total.

Second, is there a caption I’ve written that you are furious that I didn’t expand into a full vignette? Now’s your chance to make me correct that egregious error! 25$ gets you a 2000-2500 word story extending the caption however you’d like to see it, or you can leave it up to me, if you’d rather.

I’m also open for both long and short commissions for the moment as well. I very much appreciate all of my past commissioners, thanks for helping to keep me and my husband off the street–it’s much appreciated. If you have questions about commissions, or would like to buy one, contact me as you will, or send me a non-anonymous ask.

Short commissions open and a story up for adoption

Alright, so that little hiatus is over, and I think I’m ready to jump back in again. So, first things first, I’m gonna go ahead and open back up my short commissions. The husband and I are gonna be moving into a new place at the end of the month, and any extra cash would be much obliged. Please note that the prices have changed since the last update, along with the payment. I’m going to start asking for payment up front, because I’ve had a couple close calls with people paying me after I’ve completed the work, and one person reneged on the deal entirely (but more on that in a second). At this point, I think you all know I’m good for commissions–I have yet to back out of one, and for repeat customers, I’ll most likely waive the up front requirement, but if I don’t know you yet, sorry, but that’s the way things need to be.

That said, here are the details on short commissions:

Short Commissions ***OPEN***

All payment due up front, following consultation and approval of plot outline.

2000-2500 word story (text only): 20 dollars

4500-5000 word story (text only): 40 dollars

Add images to a story of any length: 5 dollars

Now, I mentioned that someone reneged on a commission, which means I have a story all written that I would love to post…but since I wrote it for payment, I don’t really want to post it without being paid. So, we’re gonna go ahead and call the story an orphan–anyone want to adopt it? I’ll go ahead and put it up for 25 dollars (the story is 4,000 words long), and I’ll make any small changes to the story you might want. The major themes are bearification, bondage and humiliation, and involves this guy:

turning into this guy:

Want to find out how? Go ahead and contact me if you’re interested in adopting it.

Thanks again for reading–hopefully I’ll have some new content up this week, but I’m not setting a schedule this month–I have a feeling things are going to be a bit too hectic, between holidays and moving, to let me stick to anything solid.

Announcing Photo Caption Week

So I need some time to work on all these commissions I got, so instead of longer stories, I’m going to run a week of photo captions, which take way less work, although I’m sure you’ll all enjoy them just as much. Most of them will be reblogs of photos with my own captions, others are just pictures from my own collection I love, and others will satisfy a few of the story requests I’ve gotten from you.

Also, all of my long commission slots have been filled, but I’m still open for tumblr commissions if anyone wants one. Here are the details again:

One shot vignette, approx. 2000 words: $15

Add additional parts to the story (up to two, approx. 2000 words): $15 each

Add photos you provide: no cost

Add photos and I provide them: $5

Payment:

Entire fee will be due upon completion of entire story through paypal.
