(Different person) That original guy may have overreacted, but it’s equally lame to actively defend getting simple things wrong. What sort of writer finds merit in mistakes instead of just owning up?

I will happily own up to the fact that I have made plenty of grammatical and spelling errors in my stories. My editing process is usually a five to ten minute read through per 4000 words–this generally catches most of my egregious errors, but I simply don’t care to spend more time on it.

Am I defending it? Hardly–I just openly admit it. I’m lazy, and I know that most people don’t give a shit, because a grammatical error isn’t going to get in the way of their masturbation, or at least I hope not, because that would be really, really silly, and indicate that maybe that person should reprioritize their life. I’m just not a huge fan of editing, but I’m perfectly capable of doing it, I just choose not to get out my fine tooth comb for jack off material which is just going up on tumblr, not into the Western Canon.

I certainly don’t find grammatical errors meritorious either, but is it really so important to you all that everything I pump out is grammatically flawless? Is it really going matter in the grand scheme of life, the universe and everything? Goodness, it’s like you all are just asking for me to start switching them all the time on purpose, just to watch you all pop a rage vein.

The fact is, I don’t give a shit–but watching all of you stroke out over it is fucking hilarious.
