No, I haven’t written any fanfiction. It doesn’t really interest me all that much, I suppose? I don’t know–I have too many of my own ideas to borrow someone else’s.
As for my opinion on it, I suppose that, as a fan, it’s a fine way of continuing the stories, but as a writer, I would probably find it disrespectful if others took my characters and started throwing them into new stories that didn’t come from me–it would feel a little…violating? It’s complicated. You can get really close to your characters sometimes, and seeing them ripped out of your hands like dolls would be a little, unsettling I suppose.
